Tutoring schedule: Wednesday/Thursday, 3:00-3:30 p.m., during the lunch hour by appointment only
Missed assignments/Late Work
Missed assignments: It is the student's responsibility to inquire about missed assignments upon the return to class from an absence. The student must check with students, team members, and/or teacher for missed assignments. Students have 5 days to make up an assignment if absent. Assignments received after the 5-day period will incur a 10-point per day reduction for each day that they are late. The student has a total of 5 days to submit missed assignments.
Late Work: Homework is due the next class meeting whether the teacher is present or not. Homework will incur a 10-point per day reduction after the initial due date. Example: Student submits homework on day 3 after the due date, student's highest grade to be earned is a 70%. Late work will not be accepted after the 5th day.
Parent Conferences
If your grade falls below a 70% for two consecutive weeks or if you do not fulfill assignment requirements, a parent conference will be scheduled. Students not maintaining supplies, as stated in the original course syllabus, will also have a parent conference. Weekly progress /grades will be posted in the classroom every Monday. Students must maintain an assignment log in the binder at all times.
Classroom Rules and Procedures
Students are expected to follow the district's Student Code of Conduct handbook at all times. Students are expected to adhere to the following for this class:
1. Eating and drinking are prohibited in the classroom.
2. No use of profanity and the “n” word.
3. Limit conversations to accountable talk when instructed to do so.
4. Remain in assigned seat until told otherwise.
Students following the classroom rules will be rewarded through special privileges such as field trips. The "No homework" pass is earned by students maintaining a grade point average of "95" or higher for the six-week period; having no occurrences of unexcused absence and tardy; and having no behavior referrals.
Students not adhering to the classroom rules incur the following consequences:
1. Verbal Warning
2. RTI/Teacher-student conference
3. Parent conference
4. Counselors Referral
5. Referral to the Principal (could possibly lead to suspension)
